 Jacob Masciotra's Children’s Wish

Jacob Masciotra, a Grade 11 student, was granted a Children’s Wish in October. His Wish was to visit Pixar Studios and spend a day with the animators. At Pixar Studios he learned how digitally animated movies come to life, previewed unreleased material, and met key figures in the animation industry.

Jacob met with 5 of the top animators at Pixar, and spent time learning from each of them. He drew one-on-one with Jeff Pidgeon, who created Toy Story’s Woody, manipulated a character on a computer, and learned how digitally animated movies come to life. Then he previewed the new Disney/ Pixar “short” that will not be released until June. He is sworn to secrecy, but will tell you it was awesome!

At the end of the day, Jacob met John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer of Pixar and Disney. They had a lively conversation that ended with a selfie together, and Mr. Lasseter gave him a bag filled with Pixar memorabilia. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.
