Ottawa chapter of the Tetra SocietyLast week, the Ottawa chapter of the Tetra Society hosted an evening event to honour volunteers, introduce Ruby Ng who is the new Executive Director of the Sam Sullivan Disability Foundation and the Tetra Society of North America, and to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Tetra Society. Mr. Scott Pemberton and Ms. Monica Leonhardt attended the event as Mr. Pemberton's Manufacturing Engineering program is the first high school program in Ontario, if not in all of Canada, to have an on-going relationship with the Tetra Society. Mr. Pemberton's senior students design and fabricate assistive devices for community members with physical disabilities, thus providing a valuable service to the community while giving students the opportunity to do real world engineering and fabrication. It's win-win for all!
