Ottawa Public Library Mindfulness Workshops
Posted on 04/30/2021

The Ottawa Public Library has organized three free online Mindfulness workshops in May: one for parents, one for children, and one for teens.

· Mindfulness for Parents, Thursday, May 6, 7 – 8:30 pm (next week!)

· Mindfulness for Kids, Monday, May 10, 4:30 – 5:30 pm

· Mindfulness for Teens, Monday, May 17, 4:30 – 5:30 pm

The Canadian Mental Health Association’s Mental Health Week at the beginning of May takes on a particular significance this year. There is not one of us who is not themselves or does not know someone going through mental health challenges. Ottawa Public Library is kicking off a series of free online Mindfulness workshops to help us all cope with the stress. Recognizing and talking about your stress, your emotions, helps in managing them. Don’t miss this opportunity to bring mindfulness into your lives and practice strategies and coping skills.

Registration is required:

Parents will not need a Library card to apply as registration is taken through Eventbrite.

However, children and teens will need a Library card. Cards are free for Ottawa residents. If you don’t have a card, you can register online for a temporary card to use for signing up for the programs .

The three mindfulness workshops are led by Rebekka Wallace Roy of Be Kind, Be Brave, Be Present. Rebekka is a Registered Social Worker and a Psychotherapist who is passionate about mindfulness. Workshops will be offered in English, but attendees will be able to interact and ask questions in either English or French.

Please visit the Ottawa Public Library website for more information about the workshops.

The program for parents will be recorded and put on the OPL YouTube so that you can catch it later it you miss it.
