Students must complete four courses in English to receive the OSSD diploma. After their destreamed courses in grades 9 & 10, students will choose either the college or university stream. Students also have the option of enrolling in Advanced Placement English courses, which begin in Grade 11 and will give them the option to write the AP English Language & Composition and/or AP English Literature & Composition examinations. EWC 4U – Writer’s Craft
This course emphasizes the development of literacy, communication, and critical and creative thinking skills necessary for success in the workplace and in daily life. Students will study the content, form, and style of a variety of contemporary informational, graphic, and literary texts, and create oral, written, and media texts in a variety of forms for practical purposes. Writer’s Craft fosters student creativity!
