Attendance and Lates

Regular attendance in class is crucial to academic success. If a student is going to be absent, parents are asked to either email [email protected] or call the school at 613-592-3361.

Intermediate students should be standing in the yard with their class by 8:40 a.m. If students are late, they are to report to the main office to get a late slip and bring it to their teacher.

Plans for this year's Intermediate Student Council have not yet been finalized.

The Student Council typically meets regularly to plan monthly Battle of the Grades (BOG) competitions. These activities are designed to build the school community. Some of the events held in past years include a school-wide Kahoot challenge, a Spirit Week, and an at Home Scavenger Hunt.

Check back soon to see what exciting activities are planned for 2022-2023!

Intermediate Athletics

Visit the Intermediate Athletics website to discover what sports are available for you. There is a variety of sports spanning the whole school year.

Intermediate Music Program

The Earl of March Intermediate Music Program offers many opportunities for grade 7 and 8 students to not only learn to play an instrument, but also enjoy the experience of performing with various award winning bands and ensembles.

EOM students participate in two 40 minute classes of instrumental music in a 5-day cycle where they learn the basics of playing an instrument.

Earl of March also offers students the opportunity to perform with a Junior and Senior concert band, 2 jazz ensembles and various small ensembles. Under the direction of Kerry Steiner and Katharine Hardiman, these bands have participated in various school concerts, regional/national competitions and field trips to further enhance their musical abilities.

Incoming Gr. 6 students and parents, please see this Gr. 6 Instrumental Music Registration and Process, and reach out to [email protected] if you have any additional questions.  Students will receive information regarding their instruments by the end of June.

Library Learning Commons

For the 2022-23 school year, the Library Learning Commons space is open for business! The Library hours are 8:15-3:15. Students are welcome to visit before and after school. Students may also visit the Library during recess on assigned days. We ask that grade 7 students only visit during morning recess on Mondays and Wednesdays, while grade 8 students may visit during afternoon recess on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Intermediate classes may book visits to the Library to sign out books. Students may also request books by using the "hold" function in Alexandria. Detailed instructions are available here. You can also use our Book Match service!

Be sure to check out the Library Learning Commons website to see everything we have to offer, and follow us on Instagram. Join the Library Google Classroom to keep up to date with any activities in the Library.

Homework Help

It's 6:00 at night and you're stuck on something in your homework. Even worse, it's due the next day! What do you do? Fortunately, help is at hand. Intermediate students have a few options for after school homework help.

If you need help with math, check out TVO's Mathify. You can access this through the VLE, or go directly to the website. Mathify offers free 1:1 online tutoring with Ontario certified math teachers Monday-Friday from 9am to 9pm and Saturdays & Sundays from 3:00-9:00pm.

You will have to get the access code from your teacher. Fill in the form and you will receive a link the next day.

International and Indigenous Languages Program

The OCDSB offers free virtual classes in a variety of international and indigenous languages. Learn a new language, or maintain the language of your home or heritage. Classes are held on the weekends and after school and are designed for students from JK to grade 8. Registration is ongoing throughout the school year.
