The first step in applying to college is to research the programs and colleges available to you. If you have not already decided what programs you are applying to, see our College Map to find a campus near you, browse our Find a Program tool to see all college programs offered in Ontario, go directly to college websites for more details about their programs.
The next step is to create an account with ontariocolleges.ca and begin your college application.
Your ontariocolleges.ca Account
If you have never applied through ontariocolleges.ca before, click the "Create an Account" button to get started. Your ontariocolleges.ca account allows you to
Your ontariocolleges.ca account will be deleted from our system after 2 years if there has been no activity during that time. This includes any transcripts and / or documents on file. If you wish to apply to college again, you’ll need to create a new account.
Important Info Before You Apply
- The application processing fee is $95.00 (non-refundable).

An application allows you up to 5 program choices (no more than 3 at any one college).

All program choices must start within the same academic year (August-July).

Your username is permanent.

Your password must be between 8 and 14 characters in length.

How to Apply

Log in to your account.

Fill in your personal information and educational history.

Add your program choices.

Pay the application processing fee and any transcript fees.

Log back in to verify your transcript information, or to make changes or updates to your application. (Changing your program choices after February 1 may affect your chances of receiving an offer, as applications will be considered first-come, first-served.)

Log back in after February 1 to view and confirm offers of admission.
Important Dates and Deadlines for Ontario College Applications
Early October 2021: Online Application Opens
In early October, access to the online college application becomes available for programs beginning in the following academic year (August to July). You may create an account and begin your application.
October 15, 2021: Colleges Begin Receiving Applications
In mid-October, ontariocolleges.ca begins transmitting application data to the colleges for the following academic year (August to July). This is the earliest date that colleges may acknowledge applications.
November 1, 2021: Earliest Offer Date
This is the earliest date that colleges may begin to send offers of admission to programs for the upcoming academic year. Offers will continue to be issued until programs are filled or wait-lists are established.
February 1, 2022: Equal Consideration Date
Apply on or before this date in order to receive equal consideration for admission to programs starting the following fall. After this date, colleges consider applicants on a first-come, first-served basis until programs are full.
Note that applications to Highly Competitive Programs must be received by this date in order to be considered. As these programs receive a high volume of applicants, all seats may be filled by February 1.
Applicants are encouraged to complete their applications well before the Equal Consideration Date, as website volumes on the online application are at their highest at this time.
Many programs continue to accept applicants after February 1. Use our Find a Program tool at any time to find programs that are still open.
May 1, 2022: Deadline to Confirm Offers of Admission
Applicants must confirm their acceptance of an offer of admission by this date. Log in to your ontariocolleges.ca account to confirm your offer.
Colleges may extend offers of admission after this date. Each college will set the deadline to confirm offers made after May 1, and this deadline will be communicated to you with your offer.
June 2022: Tuition Deposit Due at the Colleges
The colleges require payment of a tuition deposit in mid-June to secure your spot in your program. Each college sets its own tuition deposit amount and payment deadline. This information will be communicated to you by the college.
How to View and Confirm Offers of Admission to College
February 1 is the earliest date colleges may begin to inform applicants of their admission decisions. Offers of admission will continue to be issued until program seats are filled and/or waitlists are established.
Log in to your account regularly to check your offers of admission. Note that offers of admission may not be posted to your ontariocolleges.ca account immediately, as this data must be transmitted to us by the colleges.
Accepting your offer
To accept an offer of admission to college,

Log in to your ontariocolleges.ca account.

Click on View Offers to see your offers of admission.

Select the offer of admission you wish to accept.
- Click confirm.
Once you have accepted an offer, ontariocolleges.ca will send a confirmation email to the email address associated with your account.
The other colleges to which you have applied will receive notification of your accepted offer.
Note: You may not defer an offer of admission.
Changing Your Confirmation of Acceptance
You may receive more than one offer of admission, depending on the number of colleges and/or programs to which you have applied.
You may accept only one offer at a time. However, if you change your mind or receive another offer that you prefer, you may change your acceptance as long as the offer has not expired. Your current acceptance will automatically cancel your previous acceptance.
Note that you may only confirm an offer once per day. If you have already confirmed an offer and change your mind later that day, you must wait until the next business day to confirm the new offer.
Confirmation Deadlines
You must confirm your acceptance to college by May 1, unless the offer was made to you after this date. Each college determines its own confirmation deadline on offers made after May 1.
Offer Status
You may not accept offers of admission that are marked with the following statuses:

Revoked - The offer has been withdrawn by the college and is no longer available to you.

Suspended - The offer has been suspended by the college because the program is no longer being offered.

Expired - The expiry date has passed and this offer is no longer valid.
Declining Offers
If you decide not to attend any college program you have applied for, you may decline all offers by logging into your account, clicking on "View Offers" and then clicking on "Decline All Offers".
Note that this will decline any offer that you have already accepted.
If you are accepting an offer of admission, there is no need to decline any other offers.
