University Mini-Courses Program 2025

2025 Mini-Courses Program (for students currently in grades 8-11)

Each year, over 100 mini-courses are offered to students from Eastern Ontario and the Outaouais region. Take a week to explore a subject that interests you, spend a few days on campus, and get a taste of life at university! In 2025, the mini-courses will run from April 28 to May 2 at the University of Ottawa and Carleton University.

OCDSB Students will have the option to engage with the Mini-Course program, however schools will not make recommendations or approve student participation. All registrations will be completed directly through the Mini-Course website by parents/guardians who are interested in having their child participate. Please note that registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis (limited spots available) and must be completed by Feb 20th, 2025.

Students who would like to participate should register online here. This includes selecting courses and providing payment.

Restrictions on Personal Mobile Devices

Last spring, the Ontario government put in place new restrictions on personal mobile devices in schools. Starting September 3, the following restrictions will be in place for grade 7 and 8 students at Earl of March.

Personal mobile devices are not allowed to be used during the school day. The minimum requirement for students in grade 7&8 is to not have access during instructional time. However, we will be continuing with our policy from last year where students will be required to leave their mobile device in their bag or locker for the duration of the school day.

For further details regarding these restrictions, including accommodations, visit: ocdsb.ca/mobiledevices.
